What is it?

 As the Bible says in Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.". We have uncovered an opportunity to witness just as scripture says not only in Africa, Mexico and across town, but right here in our community. “The Love Train” has been prayerfully developed to target children that may not otherwise come to a more “traditional” VBS program.

 To help explain, here are some FAQs:

 What kidz are we talking about?

This program is an alternative to the current VBS and is designed for the non-church kidz. We have rented a bus to pick-up kidz from the 3 daycare/daycamps in Fairfield and to pick-up kidz in the Ranch Country community, just 5 miles up the road. Kidz who already attend church but perhaps could not attend VBS are welcome to participate. It is an “open registration” concept, meaning that we will not have any expectations on participation. We are leaving that in God’s hands.

 How do we collect information from these kidz?

We have developed a permission slip that each kid participating must have completed. It asks some basic information such as address & phone numbers. This will allow for future contact with these families.

 What is the point? They will probably never come back to FBC??

We may never see or hear from any of these kidz again. Our goal is to plant and water the seeds. If we get to partake of the harvest, that is simply a bonus!

 How can I help?

There are several ways you can help. First, pray for each kid, student and adult volunteer, and Pastor John as he delivers the message each evening. Second, show up at 5:30pm on any night you can to help out. There are several areas to work in: Crafts, Snacks, Games, “Crowd Control”, staying with a particular grade level, translating English/Spanish, making PB&J for the daycare/daycamp kidz. See? There is something for everyone that wants to help!
